Post Protective Style Haircare maintenance

What’s up curls & coils crew! This service is the most important one I offer. My goal is to take your hair care to the NEXT level this year. My girl @itslorilife came in for her maintenance treatment after having her hair in a braided style. Please understand if you are leaving your protective style in your hair for 9 plus weeks you sis aren’t protecting a thing. In fact you are doing your hair harm. I come in love, peace, and here to help 🙏🏾

My client arrived with her braids already taken down and she detangled her hair to remove the hair that had not been shedded. It is normal to have a lot of shedding when taking protective styles down. On average we shed 50-100 hair strands a day. If you’ve had your protective style in for 6 weeks that’s 42 days of shed that hasn’t been released.

Please detangle with your fingers first and be gentle. If you’re able to use a wide tooth comb that’s fine as well. If you’re struggling utilize conditioner to help. It is crucial to detangle before the water hits your hair otherwise it will tangle, matte, or lock. That is no fun.

Step 1 Olaplex clarifying shampoo twice. Your hair will not receive or retain moisture if you don’t remove the build-up.
Step 2 Redken all soft mega shampoo
Step 3 Ouidad lightweight protein treatment and steam. Her hair is very fine so I want to handle it with care and utilize protein to keep it strong
Step 4 Redken all soft mega conditioner and leave in
Step 5 Mizani true textures coil oil
I’m here to help and want to teach you how to care for your hair. If you’re in the Charlotte area book your hair care service with me at my beauty bar 🫶🏾🫶🏾 Not local? Virtual beauty consultations are also available! Click here to book!
